Luana deserves 6 Stars, let me tell you why... My wife and I were super exited about visiting Rio but were concerned about safety and COVID. After researching and contacting several guides, we decided that Luana was the best fit for us. Besides her amazing reviews, I liked her prompt responses, professionalism and her communication skills. In fact I wrote to several guides and some took a while to answer, others wanted me to go to their website for information or to call them right away, which I didn’t want to do (didn’t care to be sold). Anyway, must say that we were beyond pleased with decision, as Luana was amazing! She is kind, super knowledgeable and a great communicator. We spent three days with her and we combined must see tourist attractions, with great culinary destinations. What we loved the most about her company is that she didn’t try to be the center of attention but wanted to give us space to soak up the experience while being available to answer our many questions. Luana is also very proactive ; during our visit weather conditions were changing and she had the foresight to modify out itinerary to maximize sunshine. Overall, if we could give Luana 6 Stars we would. The first 5 Stars would be because she is excellent. The 6th Star because she does it with charm and a warm smile. Thank you Luana for an incredible visit!

The best guide you could wish for. From the time that Luana met us at the airport to the time, three days later, that she escorted us to to the check in desk for our onward flight she made us feel comfortable in her company. Her excellent command of English and her encyclopaedic knowledge made our escorted day tour of Rio one of the highlights of our visit to Brazil. Nothing was too much trouble, including finding somewhere for us to exchange currency, we always felt that we were valued clients. We would have no hesitation in recommending her to fellow travellers. Thank you Luana and our best wishes for the future.

Exceptional guide and experience Luana provided an experience that exceeded my dreams. She was knowledgeable, prompt, spoke good English and very kind. She did a lot of little extras to ensure we had a great experience, for example, she bought us pao de queijo and matte while we were waiting for the trolley to give us a "taste" of Brazil, literally. We walked a lot and she'd check in to see if we were okay and gave us options. She gave us suggestions on where to go and what to see on our spare time. I highly recommend her!

Amazing guided tour with a great Luana. We loved our tour ! Luana is the most knowledgeable, friendly, kind and accommodating guide I ever met and I traveled a lot. We only had 24 hrs in Rio and not the best weather but she managed to show us so much of the city and made us fall in love with her Rio. She was in time to pick us up from airport and hotel and told us so much interesting information to made this quick stop in Rio so much fun. We saw the main attractions , went out for happy hr, had great local foods , listen to some music .. it was one of the best 24 hrs tour !! I highly remembered you to hire Luana as your guide for any tour your want, she is very creative and amazingly friendly. I’m glad we found her and made a new friend in Rio.

Will stop at nothing to make your day great! We had three days out in Rio with Luana. She was very flexible in scheduling our trips to accommodate us, the weather and crowd avoidance. Acting as both driver and guide she whisked us around the city, always full of knowledge and interest and always finding that elusive parking space. As well as when travelling together she would also help us book solo tours. I felt she made a real difference to our whole Rio experience and would recommend her to anyone.

Great guide, great day, lovely person Luana was our guide for a truly packed day. She knew where to go and in what order to miss the crowds. A dab hand at finding convenient parking and a very safe driver who knows the city of Rio like the back of her hand. Unlike some guides who will charge by the hour she has a daily rate and it is a full day. I think we were with her for nearly 10 hours and she was enthusiastic throughout. Tip - if you go on a Saturday the roads will be less busy so you see more. Luana is a lovely person and very easy to get on with. We are so glad some friends recommended her.

A Wonderful Day in Rio Luana is fantastic! Very knowledgeable, accommodating, listens to what you would like to see and do and makes it happen! But what is best about Luana is that she is a very nice person. She shares her life stories, talks politics, explains how systems in Brazil work....and knows where to get a great cup of coffee and food. I was travelling by myself, and heard how unsafe Rio can be, so arranged for Luana to pick me up at the airport, drop my bag to the hotel near the airport, then set off to see the sights. We didn't get back till late as she made sure I saw and did lots....including a salsa night finale. Looking forward to a return trip to Brazil when I have more time....and having Luana once more as my guide!

Fantastic Guide If you want a really good guide in Rio, you should definitely book Luana. We have just spent the day with her, as our driver/guide, and she’s a pleasure to be with, listening attentively to our interests, making sure we went to the relevant places and clearing the weather as we got to Christ the Redeemer so we got a great view of the statue and the city. She’s cheerful, friendly and interesting, talking about a wide variety of subjects. She’s left us with advice about what to do on our day by ourselves, booked us a restaurant. What more could you ask?

Excellent Rio Guide We can recommend Luana without hesitation. The perfect balance between a professional skilled guide and sharing the day with a local who clearly loves her city. We were only in Rio overnight but our time with Luana taking care of us enabled us to experience the city through the eyes of a local. Her heart is in it and you can trust that you are in very good hands. Thank you so much for sharing the city with us.

Botanical Gardens

Botanical Gardens - Created in 1808 by D. João VI of Portugal, the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden (JBRJ) is famous for the exuberance and the scientific importance of its plant collection, as well as for the beauty of its landscapes. Its bicentennial history is expressed in its monuments, buildings and artworks.

The visitors can walk along the alleys or rent an electric car to see plants from all over the world, visit the greenhouses (Orchids, Bromeliads, Ferns, Insectivorous Plants) and the thematic collections and gardens, like the Japanese Garden, created in 1935 from the donation of 65 species of tipical Japanese plants.

Among the monuments, we highlight the Visitor’s Center – a XVI century bulding -, the statues of Eco and Narciso by Mestre Valentim, and the Academy of Fine Arts Portal, projected by Grandjean de Montigny. The Garden is also an excellent place for bird watching.
